What's the big deal?

ANALOG VS. DIGITAL

We talked about this briefly today in my marketing fundamentals class. I posed the idea that the switch from analog to all things digital helped companies increase their profits because the necessity of having to buy either a new televison or a converter. Someone even mentioned that some people will have to buy new video cameras to produce shows.

Personally, I think that the switch is pointless. I mean, yes it breaks the images down faster, but it compromises sound. I think it's just a way for the media industries to make more money on new tvs or new technology.

That goes back to the innovation of the BlueRay Disc....come on! Just stick to the freakin DVDs! I understand the need for new technology, but when it comes to making people buy something to be able to watch tv I think that is crossing the line.

Okay, all for now.

Impossible is Nothing

"Impossible is Nothing" - Lionel Messi, Adidas Commercial

I ran accross this commercial on YouTube. It was really inspiring for me, not because I'm a soccer star, but because Lionel talks about how good things can come from bad. It's such an encouragement to hear it from others. My freshman year in college I went through a rough time living away from home in a small school in East Texas, but I learned from it and because a stronger person. And occasionally in the past I would let my past experiences creep up on me and take weight on my shoulders. I realize now more than I did a year ago, that God puts us through this situations we feel to be impossible, when in actuality He will only put you through things you can bear and which will make you a stronger person! How great a God. :)

And another thing, I realize that not everyone is a Christian, and if it bothers you that I talk about God I'm not going to apologize. This is what I believe and this is who I am, so if you don't like it then there is really nothing I can do. I love everyone for who they are and I hope you can do the same for me.

Somethmes bad things can turn out good.

"What Have I Done?"

This song is probably one of my favorites. The first time I heard this I was working out at the gym, and I broke down in tears. I had never had a song affect me like that. "What have I done" is a question that goes through my mind a lot. I was reading the other night and it hit me again (as it normally does) that there is really absolutely NOTHING I can do to earn God's love! It's like hearing this song helped me to remember that! What wonderful timing on His part; I definitely needed to be reminded of that.

why IS America so friendly?

I know...really random topic right? Isn't that the idea behind all of this?

Anyways, so you are probably wondering why I have a rather large picture of probably one of the most critical people on my blog.

I was working out last week and the new season of "America's favorite show" American Idol came on. I decided to go ahead and watch it - why not? Passes the time I guess!

At the end of the show Simon posed a question "Why is it that people in America are so excited and happy when people they know succeed?" And that got me thinking...is it merely the fact that Europeans are down right rude (not too sure about this one) or are we, as Americans overly nice? Why do we get excited when a friend or a family member succeeds. Because we LOVE people...take a hint Simon! But then again, that comes to the question what is love? In the Bible it says that God is love and in order to know love you are to know God. Which, personally, I think makes perfect sense, but then to the people who don't believe in God or have different views that probably puts them off. But we are all allowed to believe what we want to believe right?
So, why are we as a culture, so friendly? Because most of us experience genuine love for others thus promoting us to have a joyous feeling when someone we know succeeds.
Maybe Simon needs to be reading this...take a hint, buddy!

Is Vitamin Water Really Worth It?

So, I'm at work today drinking my daily Vitamin Water and one of my bosses says, "Is there a reason you pay more for flavored water?"

It's funny, actually, I love the taste of regular water quite a bit. But for some unknown reason I decide to spend more money on flavored water that has a bunch of vitamins in it. Why? Because it's not just water? I mean I could be a little more disciplined and just take my daily vitamins anyways. It's really not that difficult.

But I guess that just goes to prove that there are so many of us out there who get too caught up in the business of life that we can't even take a single minute to take some freaking vitamin pills and we have to go OUT OF OUR WAY to buy flavored water that probably took longer than it would to swallow the darn pills in the first place.

I need to start taking my vitamins again...

Part of me.

So, here it is. My debut into the blog world.

I'll take this first blog to introduce myself.

I don't mind getting messy; it can actually be quite fun!

I am in love with my family!

Did I mention that we all like to dance? haha..
I love to read books, and I like to learn new things. I just learned how to knit over Christmas break. I'm really excited! I'll post my first finished piece when I get done!
I'm an outgoing person, and I love to work. I would be lost if I didn't have a job outside of school.
I don't like it when people are late, or when people don't return phone calls. I would be lost without my planner. And I love my dog - I don't care what other people think of pit bulls because he's my baby!
I love to volunteer. Serving people is what I do, and it is something that has always been in my heart. I love to give glory to our Lord!
Anyways, I can't think of anything else at the moment!
